Sapphire (corundum, Al₂O₃) beneficiation is based on the core process of "washing-screening-gravity separation-photoelectric separation", which ensures the efficient recovery of high grade sapphire and protects the integrity of gemstone crystals.
Purpose: To remove clay, sand and surface adherents, and improve the subsequent sorting efficiency.
Rotary scrubber (with high-pressure water spray):
Processing capacity: 20-100 t/h
Remove -0.5mm fine mud to prevent clogging of subsequent equipment.
Double-deck vibrating screen (stainless steel screen):
Grading size: +5mm, 5-2mm, 2-0.5mm, -0.5mm
The upper part of the screen (+5mm) is manually picked to remove the large waste stones.
Purpose: Pre-enrichment utilizing the density difference between sapphire (density 3.95-4.03 g/cm³) and quartz/feldspar (density 2.6-2.8 g/cm³).
Jigger (sawtooth wave type):
Processing 5-0.5mm grain size, recovery rate of more than 85%
Stroke, stroke adjustable, adapted to different particle size sapphire
Spiral concentrator (for -0.5mm fine grain size):
Recover fine-grained sapphire, reduce losses
Purpose: further improve the purity of sapphire, remove garnet, zircon and other associated minerals.
Shaking table selection (6-S type fiberglass shaking table):
Processing jigging rough concentrate, improving sapphire grade
Optical sorting machine (X-ray/XRF/Laser sorting):
Sorting based on Fe/Ti elemental characteristics or fluorescence properties of sapphire
Purity up to 98% or more, processing capacity 1-10 t/h
Electrostatic sorting machine (optional):
Utilizing the difference in electrical conductivity between sapphire and garnet sorting
