I. Program Overview

This heavy sand ore production line program designs a complete set of "washing - gravity separation - magnetic separation - electrostatic separation " combined process for the mineral characteristics of heavy sand ore (ilmenite, rutile, zircon, monazite, etc.). The gravity separation solution pays special attention to the balance of mineral recovery, concentrate grade and production cost, and realizes the efficient recovery of resources through multi-stage classification and gradient separation. The system adopts modularized design, and the process combination can be flexibly adjusted according to the nature of the raw ore and product demand, which ensures the stable operation of the heavy sand beneficiation production line and the consistency of product quality, as well as the efficient recovery of a variety of valuable minerals.


Second, heavy sand ore beneficiation process flow

1. Washing and screening system

Purpose: to remove clay, sand and organic impurities, and improve the subsequent sorting efficiency.

  • Silo: even feeding to avoid clogging.

  • Trommel screen/rotary scrubber (with high pressure water spraying):

    • Processing capacity: 20-300 t/h

    • Remove -0.5mm fine mud to prevent clogging of subsequent equipment.

  • Vibrating screen (optional):

    • Grading size: +2mm, 2-0.5mm, -0.5mm

2. Gravity enrichment system

Purpose: Pre-enrichment by utilizing mineral density difference (e.g. zircon 4.6-4.8 g/cm³, ilmenite 4.5-5.5 g/cm³).

  • Spiral chute:

    • Processing 2-0.074mm particle size, recovery rate above 80%

    • Suitable for ilmenite, rutile, zircon, etc.

  • Shaking table (6-S type):

    • Concentrate the rough concentrate, improve the grade of minerals

    • Processing capacity 0.5-2 t/h

3. Magnetic separation system

Purpose: Separate magnetic minerals (ilmenite, magnetite) and non-magnetic minerals (zircon, rutile).

  • Wet magnetic separator:

    • Magnetic field strength 800-1500 gauss, remove strong magnetic minerals

  • Dry magnetic separator:

    • Magnetic field strength 0.8-1.5T, separating weak magnetic minerals (monazite, garnet)

4. Electrostatic separation system (zircon, rutile selection)

Purpose: Final sorting by utilizing the difference in conductivity of minerals (e.g. zircon is non-conductive, rutile is semi-conductive).

  • High voltage electrostatic separator:

    • Voltage 20-60kV, sorting efficiency >90%

    • Suitable for -2mm particle size minerals

5. Drying system

  • Rotary dryer:

    • Temperature 80-120℃ to avoid mineral oxidation

    • Processing capacity 5-20 t/h
